Helambu Gosaikunda Trek is an excellent way of exploring the Himalayan Ranges within a week. Gosainkunda is a holy place, especially for Hindus and Buddhists. A grand Holy festival is held in Gosainkunda Lake during the month of August. A legendary fact about this place is that it is covered with 108 lakes, most of which are visible during the journey.
Exhilarating trails, campsites with wonderful outlooks, culturally and religiously rich village settlements, a high pass, and the sacred visit to the holy Gosainkunda Lake are the things that are to be expected from this trek. Along the journey, we can explore the legendary Yolmo culture of villages in the high mountains, get marvel vistas of lonely high mountains and watch the farmers toil in the fields using handmade tools. The culturally abundant villages of the Helambu Gosainkunda trekking are amiable, warm, and very welcoming.
The Helambu Gosaikunda Trek trail will lead us across splendid frozen lakes, beautifully woven Sherpa hamlets, vibrant Rhododendron forests, various Shrubs, exotic Orchids, Wildlife inhabitants, and breathtaking sights of the snow-clad Himalayas. We will also get an opportunity to view the magnificent Mt. Dhaulagiri which stretches all the way to Mt. Everest and the alpine yak pasture of Kyanjin Gompa.
The Helambu Gosainkunda trekking trek starts at North of Kathmandu Sundarijal village and finished at Dhunche village in the Langtang area. From there take the bus back to Kathmandu. The forests that fall along the route are well known for their Wildlife inhabitants like the Red Pandas, Himalayan Black Bear, Wild Boar, and Langur Monkeys. The views of snow-capped mountains-Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo, Tilman’s fluted peak is a must experience.

Day 01: Arrival in kathmandu(1,300 m / 4,265 ft)
Your journey begins with your arrival in Kathmandu (1,300 m / 4,265 ft), the vibrant capital city and main international gateway to Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport. Upon landing, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Sherpa Himalaya, who will greet you with a traditional flower garland and a brief introduction to your upcoming adventure. Afterward, you will be comfortably transferred to your hotel, where you can relax, freshen up, and recover from jet lag, preparing yourself for the exciting Himalayan journey ahead.

- Day 02: Drive to Sundarijal & trek to Chisapani (2300m/7544 ft): Drive 1 hour, Trek: 4-5 hours
The journey begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, followed by a 4–5 hour trek to Chisapani (2,300 m / 7,544 ft).
The trail passes through Shivapuri National Park, lush forests, waterfalls, and peaceful Tamang villages while offering beautiful views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and surrounding green hills.
This scenic section of the Helambu Trek provides a perfect introduction to Himalayan nature, local culture, and peaceful mountain landscapes close to Kathmandu.
Chisapani is a beautiful village from where you will see beautiful view of surrounding mountains such as Mt. Ganesh and Mt. Dorje Lhakpa etc

- Day 03: Trek from Kutumsang (2,470 m / 8,104 ft) to Thadepati (3,690 m / 12,106 ft)(5-6 hours)

Along the way, trekkers experience the traditional Tamang and Sherpa lifestyle, influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture and mountain farming traditions.
Thadepati is a scenic ridge-top stop famous for its panoramic Himalayan views and peaceful mountain atmosphere.

Along the way, trekkers can experience the local mountain lifestyle, influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, with prayer flags, chortens, and warm village hospitality.
Phedi is a quiet and scenic stop surrounded by nature, making it a comfortable resting point before continuing deeper into the Helambu trail.

- Day 06 : Trek to Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m / 14,370 ft) via Lauribina La Pass (4,610 m / 15,125 ft) (7-8 hours)
- Day 07: Trek to ChandanBari / Sing Gompa(3330m) and then to Dhunche (1960m)
The trek from Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m / 14,370 ft) to Dhunche (1,960 m / 6,430 ft) takes approximately 7–8 hours and offers a long and scenic descent through the Langtang region.
The trail passes through rocky alpine terrain, forests of rhododendron and pine, and traditional Tamang villages. Along the way, trekkers enjoy beautiful views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and surrounding valleys as the landscape gradually becomes greener and more populated.
This route also provides a chance to experience the local mountain lifestyle, with prayer flags, monasteries, and farming communities reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Dhunche is a lively mountain town and the administrative center of Rasuwa district, marking the end of the Gosaikunda trekking journey.

- Day 08: Drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu
The drive from Dhunche to Kathmandu takes approximately 6–7 hours and marks the scenic return from the Langtang and Gosaikunda region back to the capital city.
The journey follows winding mountain roads along rivers, forests, and terraced hills, offering beautiful views of rural landscapes, waterfalls, and distant Himalayan ranges. Along the way, travelers pass through traditional villages that reflect the peaceful mountain lifestyle of Nepal.
This comfortable drive provides a final glimpse of the natural beauty of the Langtang region before reaching the vibrant city of Kathmandu.
- Day 09: Final Departure
On your final day in Kathmandu, a Sherpa Himalaya representative will meet you at your hotel for a warm farewell before your departure. You will be comfortably transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport in time for your flight, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free exit from Nepal.
Before saying goodbye, the team will express their gratitude for sharing this incredible Himalayan journey with you.
