This Peak the highest peak among the one-day climbing peak. Mera Peak has an altitude of (6476m/21246ft) is also one of the best and trending peak in Everest Region.

This Peak is always on top as it gives an amazing view of many high mountains such as; Lhotse, Kanchenjunga, Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu from its summit. This peak also provides adventurous peak climb with a technical route.

This Peak has three major summits as; Mera Central (6,461m/21,198 ft), Mera North (6,476 m/21,247 ft), and South Mera (6,065 m/19,898 ft). You will submit the North Mera. The Northen route consists altitude glacier climb. Due to the difficult route, South and Central Peak is not summited.

This Peak itinerary is very carefully designed so that your body gets properly acclimatized. As you reach Mera Peak you will find breathtaking natural landscape beneath you. Similarly, when you start your Mera Peak Trek you will be going through small villages and valleys such as; Hinku and Hongu valley.

You will encounter great moraines, glaciers, and dense forests with different flora and fauna. Charmlang and Baruntse are the major peaks which you will pass nearby. Your this awesome Trek of 19 Day starts and end from one and only gateway to Everest Region.

This Peak has two routes. If you have enough time and want to learn and know much more about the culture, tradition, and People living here in the mountain region then you can start this Trek from lower Solukhumbhu; Phaplu.

This longer route taker 2 more extra days. You can reach Phaplu either by a vehicle which takes around minimum 10 hours’ drive or else, you can take a flight from Kathmandu which takes around 35 minutes.

Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu Airport

    On this day you will be landed at the Capital City of Nepal-Kathmandu (1300m/4265 ft). It is the only International Airport in Nepal. You will be received by Sherpa Himalaya Representative.

    Then with a brief introduction, you will be welcomed by flower Garland. You will be taken to your hotel where you can rest and freshen up to keep away Jet Lag. You will get a nearby location map from the hotel reception and you can explore around.

  • Day 02: Trek Pre paration day in Kathmandu

    Today you will also be introduced to your respective Guide and Climber for Mera Peak. If you have anything to buy for your trek then you can purchase from the stores around. In the evening you will have to pack only the necessary and important items that you need during the Trek and rest you can either store at Hotel or with Sherpa Himalaya.

    We recommend you use the company Duffel bag as there will be less chance of misplacing in an airport and easier to find in case of missing.

  • Day 03: Fly to Lukla and trek to Paiya (Chutok) [2730m/8954ft]:3-4 hrs
    Today you will need to wake up early in the morning. You will be notified by Sherpa Himalaya about the time. You will be received by a private vehicle and dropped to Airport together with the Guide. You will have a very amazing Flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. You will witness very beautiful villages and Aerial view of Himalayan ranges around. With clear weather, you will have a clear idea about the Landscape of the Hilly and Himalayan region.

    As you arrive Lukla, we will take a short Rest and have breakfast or lunch according to the time of Arrival. After that, you will start your Mera Peak Trek to Paiya.

    Paiya is a small village that is 3-4 hours away from Lukla.  Our trails stars downwards from Lukla.

  • Day 04: Trek from Paiya to Pangom [2850m/93,48ft]: 5-6 hrs

    As we finish our breakfast we will towards the Pangom following the south route of the river. Our trails will be a normal trail slight slope. We will start climbing uphill and reach the small Sherpa village Pangom elevated at 2850m.

  • Day 05: Trek from Pangom to Ngingso (Shibuche)[2745m/90,003ft]: 4-5 hrs

    As we finish our morning breakfast, we will climb up slowly through monasteries and rhododendron forest and also stairs of Pangomla(3,174m).

    Pangomla means the ridge of Pangom. Now from the top we go along the ridge and descend down. We will have our lunch down beside the Hinku Khola. After we finish our lunch we will again star climbing up and reach our overnight stay Ngingso.

  • Day 06: Trek from Nngingso (Shibuche) to Chhatrakhola [3150m/10332ft]: 7-8 hrs

    We will have our breakfast early in the morning and head ahead through green fields. As you go across the green field we will start climbing stars up, which will lead us to Surka La. (Top ridge of Surka)

    We will find some small shops at top and after a few hours of continuous Trek with descending down we will reach our today’s destination; Chhatra Khola

  • Day 07: Trek from Chhatrakhola to Kothe [3600m/11808ft]: 6-7 hrs

    Today will be a long Trek with strenuous ascends and descends. We will Trek gradual slope with a view of baron landscape through rocky trails. Here we have entered into snow line. Following the ascend we will descend down again through rugged and rocky terrain.

    Today we will also encounter small lakes and then after a few hours of Trek and descend again we will arrive at Kothe.

  • Day 08: Trek from Kothe to Taknang [4,350m/14,270ft]: 3-4 hrs

    Today our destination will be Tagnak. We will head to our destination gradually and after short trek, you will reach Panch Pokhari’s viewpoint.

    You will be able to view the breathtaking view of Hinku Valley and around the landscape. We will trek down and trek through the forest towards the north. As we reach a small wooden bridge we will arrive overnight after 40-45 minutes. From here you will get an amazing view of Mera Peak from the back.

     

  • Day 09: Trek from Taknang to Khare[500m / 16404 ft]

    The trekking goes more beautiful and memorable from this day. You will find many huge mountains surrounding you.  Our trails will be a mixture of rocky and pastures. We will be walking to the left of the river staying protected and safe from small rock falls. We will pass through some lakes and glaciers.

  • Day 10: Acclimatization Day

    Today is an acclimatization day. On this day we will hike to a nearby location and sleep back to Khare.  Today we will train ourselves with gears and communication. We will practice the usage of crampons, jumars, and other gears.

  • Day 11: Trek from Khare to High camp [5,780m/18,958ft]: 4-5 hrs

    Today we will head towards Mera Base Camp and climb the glacier and make our camp at Mera High Camp.

    Ther trail up to base came camp is easy but, as you head across the glacier the challenges start. You proper foot placement will be very important and should be very careful. You will need your crampons and helmets mandatory put on.

    From the high camp, you will have a stunning view of Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, and Lhotse. The camp is situated behind a rocky place on a hill.

  • Day 12: Climb from Mera High Camp to Summit[6,461m/21,1907ft] and back to Khare [5045m/16,547ft]: 8-9 hrs

    Today we will leave high camp early mind night at around 1-2 am. It will take 5-6 hours to summit Mera Peak. We will slowly head towards the summit conserving energy to return back.

    We will climb through snowfields avoiding crevasses. You will face a steep section that can take 2 hours long. There are three peaks of Mera and we will be making the highest peak.

    We will submit the Peak and return back to Khare the same day.

  • Day 13: Trek from Khare to Kothe [3600m/11808ft]: 4-5 hrs

    After the successful climb now we will slowly return to Kothe. Our trail will be the same as we climbed earlier.

  • Day 14: Trek back from Kothe to Tuli Kharka

    The trail goes back the same path. We start as you finish breakfast. Returning with mindful of memories in the climb.

  • Day 15: Trek from Thuli Kharka to Lukla: 6-7 Hrs

    Today we will make a short climb to Lukla. Today is the last day of our beautiful and memorable climb of Mera Peak.

    We will have the last dinner together with all the staff members and wave everyone goodbyes and be ready for morning flight to Kathmandu tomorrow.

  • Day 16: Trek from Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

    Today we will fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. You will be picked by Sherpa Himalaya representative and dropped to Hotel.

    After this beautiful and adventurous Mera Peak, you can have a proper rest at your hotel. An extra free day is programmed by Sherpa Himalaya. A free day is kept to recover if in case the flight gets delayed.

    On timely arrival to Kathmandu, you can use the free day as a day to explore and shop for your family, or else you can also make a short city tour.

  • Day 17: Trek from Free Day in Kathmandu

    As mentioned above this day is specially programmed to recover if the Lukla- Kathmandu flights get delayed due to uncertain change in weather.

    With timely arrival, you can Explore the Thamel market and shop for your family. You can also make a short city tour to explore some World Heritage Site.

    You will be invited for the Last farewell dinner with Sherpa Himalaya Executive.

  • Day 18: Final Departure

    Today morning you Sherpa Himalaya representative will be there at your hotel for the last meet. You will be dropped at the airport considering airport time.

    Sherpa Himalaya will thank you for an amazing time together and handover Buddhist Scarf (Kha-tak) which symbolizes peace, prosperity, Long life, and Harmony to everyone and a certificate for your completion of Mera Peak with Sherpa Himalaya.
