Langtang Gosaikunda Lake Trek

Gosaikunda (Langtang Gosaikunda Trek) is all to Trek to the gorgeous lake; Gosaikunda Lake, at an elevation of 4380 meters above sea level. This Trek covers another Trek on its way; Langtang Valley Trek so most of the visitors have more time to prefer this Trek.

This Trek is of 16 Days which is the most appropriate one and the days/itinerary; can be managed as per your requirements. we recommend this as it helps you to get your body well acclimatize. As well as makes your trip successful without facing any health problems.

Similarly, Gosaikunda Lake is a holy lake with having strong religious context. It is an Oligotrophic lake of alpine freshwater. This lake stays frozen for 5-6 months from October to June.

You will find many lakes on this site. Almost 108 lakes are here in this conservation area and you can see three of them just near you and has been the perfect place for moviemaking, photography, and so on.

Furthermore, It is believe that the Hindu god Lord Shiva drank poison to save the world from the sea, and Gosaikunda is the place where he drank the water in order to cool his burning throat due to poison. 

Thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and Idia come here to worship every year mostly during the month of August.

In contrast, Trekking, for this reason, offers you varieties of Tea houses and lodges. This region Trek provides you with proper facilities for accommodation and the way is normal so people with moderate fitness can easily do this Trek.

Trek to this (Langtang Gosaikunda Trek) starts and ends from Shyabrubesi (1,550m/5,100ft). Our Trek will start with a long drive in a private vehicle. No airplane access is here! so in case of emergency, we will take a chopper.

Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1345m)

    On this day you will be landed at the Capital City of Nepal-Kathmandu (1300m/4265 ft). It is the only International Airport of Nepal. You will be received by Sherpa Himalaya Representative.

    Then with a brief introduction you will be welcomed by flower Garland. You will be Taken to your Hotel where you can rest and freshen up to keep away Jet Lag. You will get a nearby location map from hotel reception and you can explore around.

  • Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi(1610m) by jeep.

    Today will be a long day drive. We will be having drive mostly in the Hilly Region of Nepal. This Drive can provide you detail landscape of Hilly region.

    We will head as towards Syabrubesi from Kathmandu as we finish our breakfast. It will be 6-7 hours of Trek.

    We will reach Syabrubesi by evening and you can explore around the small town.

  • Day 03: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama hotel (2480 m)

    We will have our breakfast at around 7 am and will be leaving towards Lama Hotel. Syabrubesi is also the separating point to different destination of Langtang Region.

    Today our Trek will be 6-7 Hours long. The trails are narrow and our trail upto Lama Hotel will be with river bank and gorge of two big ridge.

  • Day 04: Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3541 m)

    Today as we finish our breakfast we will head towards Langtang Village. Langang Village is  a small village between two Ridge. You will find a small river flowing from the gorge.

    The trails are narrow and slope. you will encounter the domestic animals on the way with small shrubs throughout.

  • Day 05: Trek from Langtang village to Kyangjn Gompa.

    Today our destination will be Kyanjin Gompa. We will head to a beautiful village which is below one of the best view point of the trail.

    Kyangin Gompa is the final destination of Langtang Valley Trek.

    Today we will explore Kyanjin Gompa and prepare for the short climb of Tserko Ryi.

  • Day 06: Acclimatazation Day In kyangjin Gompa and Day Hiking at Tsrko Ri

    Today we will hike early in the morning to Tserko Ri which has an elevation of 5033m. from the view point you can see many mountains. Mountains such as Tsangbu Ri, Langtang Lirung, Baden Powell peaks and many small peaks can be seen. You will also see the beautiful gorge of Langtang Village, small glacier lake as well as villages of this Region.

    We will enjoy and capture our best memories at the top of the peak. After we stay there for while we will descend back to Kyanjin Gompa.

  • Day 07: Trek down to Lama hotel (2480 m)

    We will now return back towards Lama hotel through the same trail.

  • Day 08: Trek from Lama hotel to Thulo Syabru (2200 m)

    Today as we finish our breakfast and head to the next hill. We will have uphill Trek until we receive Thulo Shyabru.

    Thulo Shyabru is a small village on hillside from where you can see beautiful landscape with some peaks.

    It will take 5-6 hours Trek .

  • Day 09: Trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3580 m)

    Today our destination will be Sing Gompa. Its is a small village in the upper hill side of Langtang region. The tea houses are small and foods here found are more locally found.

  • Day 10: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosain kunda ( 4381 m)

    Today will be the  day for our another wanting destination. The Gosaikunda Lake. It is a spiritual lake for both Hinduism and Buddhism.

    This lake is also the source of Trishuli river.  During Janai Purnima festivals thousands of pilgrimages come here.

  • Day 11: Gosaikunda to Gopte (3440 m / 11283 ft)

    After we finish our breakfast we will head towards Gopte. Today the trail will be more descending. You will needs 4-5 hours of downhill Trek through small villages.

  • Day 12: Trek from Ghopte to Thadapati

    Ghopte will be our today’s Destination. The trails are eco-friendly. We will go through thin jungles and small villages.

    These trails can give you proper knowledge about the living lifestyle of Nepali people in rural areas.

  • Day 13: Trek from Thadapadi to Melamchi

    Today Our destination will the the main town of these region. The Melamchi Bazaar is much more populated then nearby villages.

    Today we will arrive hear by afternoon and we can get good time to freshen yourself

  • Day 14: Drive from Melamchi to Kathmandu

    Today we will have a short trek and then drive to Kathmandu. After having our breakfast we will trek down to Melachi Bazaar.

    Melamchi Bazaar is the town of this area.  As we arrive here we will have lunch and take a drive to Kathmandu. The drive will be 2-3 hours long.

    As we arrive Kathmandu you can freshen up yourself and prepare for the final departure.

  • Day 15: Free Day in Kathmandu

    Today will be a freeday. You can explore around and make your shopping if  needed.

    Today you can explore the UNESCO Heritage sites around which are within very short range.

    Today morning you Sherpa Himalaya representative will be there at your hotel for last meet. You will be dropped at airport considering airport time.
